In 2005/6 I was asked to coach Matilda Leyser (who I had taught cloudswing to for many years) for a monologue. It became a long journey in finding the right words, and content, working the voice against tough physicality of swinging, adapting her vocabulary to be suitable to swing without a lunge (as we felt that this gave us a cleaner image). This is the performance that evolved, of which I was proud. It is no mean feat engaging cloudswing (and swinging skills in general) in creative devising. In the end the words were written by Bryony Lavery with her inspirational approach to finding the right phrasing.
